The Department of Civil Engineering was established in 2009 with a Bachelor’s program (B.Tech) admitting 60 students. In 2012, a Master’s program (M.Tech) in Structural Engineering was introduced with an intake of 24 students.
Over the years, the Department has grown into a hub of academic excellence, research, and innovation. It is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories, spacious classrooms fitted with LCD projectors and digital technologies, and is supported by a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty members. The department fosters a student-friendly learning environment, encouraging open interactions, collaborative learning, and knowledge-sharing in emerging technologies.
Academic Excellence and Training
The Department continuously upgrades its facilities to align with SEAT academic guidelines and the latest industry practices. A strong emphasis is placed on industrial training, where students gain real-time exposure to industry practices and professional ethics during their course of study. Faculty members are deeply committed not only to cutting-edge research but also to creating an engaging and effective teaching–learning process.
The Department also houses an Advanced Computer Laboratory, which supports research and design in specialized areas such as bridges, high-rise structures, and modern infrastructure systems.
Professional Development Opportunities
To match the pace of societal and industrial demands, the Department organizes expert guest lectures, industrial tours, technical workshops, and soft-skill training programs. These initiatives help students develop leadership, communication, and professional competencies.
Students are actively encouraged to take part in the SWAYAM–NPTEL Local Chapter, with both faculty and students completing certifications in diverse subjects. Placement support is robust, with eligible students guided towards opportunities in leading industries and encouraged to pursue higher education in reputed institutes.
